Creating massive value – A guide to working with purpose

I’ve been on vacation for the last week so I’ve been reading even more than normal on self-development, ritual magic and psychology of happiness. I’ve also been spending a lot more time on meditation than I’m normally able to.Find the direction

All of this has helped me connect some dots I haven’t really connected before. I’ve been considering questions such as: What would I be happiest doing in life? How would I make a living out of it (if it’s something non-traditional)? How do I even find out what it is?

First attempt at a Cinemagraph

Ever since I heard about cinemagraphs I knew I had to make one.

If you haven’t heard of them before, check out this article for 40 great examples, and see mine below.

I’ll obviously need to try this again in better light, and possibly with better equipment, but now that I’ve gone through the process once, the next times will be much easier. Give it a second to load before it starts animating.

Tutorial on how to do these.

Getting into illustration

Been getting into illustration lately. Mostly started with Damian dragging me to a live drawing class, but from then I’ve started to study the techniques and the tools to draw people convincingly.

It’s pretty hard and I have a long way to go, but the great thing about drawing is that even something half-decent feels great to see and to show off. It’s a lot of fun no matter how good you are. (or aren’t)

Check out my gallery on DeviantArt, but don’t be shocked, live drawing means nudity:

Gordon stirred from his sleep, though the road wasn’t bumpy at all. He felt like he’d drunk too much cheap coffee. He was covered in stale sweat and only managed to nod off for a few minutes at a time. It wasn’t that he was worried about moving small arms around, he’d done that often enough. What made his sleep fitful was doing it in a car; a stolen Bresali car at that. This was sure to attract attention if one of the patrols noticed them. He had asked the car to take the safest route possible, but he didn’t know if that would make any difference. He glanced over at Kent, who slept like a rock next to him. Infuriatingly overconfident, as always.

He kept his eyes closed and tried hard to fall asleep again. He’d been dreaming about Sara so he resented waking up. It would be at least four or five days until he’d be home to her again and this faint memory of a dream was his only connection to her. He remembered her long raven hair tickling his face as she straddled and kissed him, his hands all over her ample thighs. He could still see those beautiful, shining, brown eyes looking down at him and he passionately wanted to continue the dream and get to the good stuff.
